Solid red indicates protection mode. This is usually triggered by a speaker wire short circuiting against vehicle metal, a drop in line voltage below 10V, or a severe internal thermal overheat. Check your ground connection and speaker terminals immediately.
- • Why does the amplifier drop into protection only when heavy bass drops hit?
A 1,500-watt RMS load draws massive current (up to 150 amps). If you use thin or cheap copper-clad aluminum (CCA) power wire, your line voltage will sag below the limit when the bass hits, tripping the safety cutoff. Upgrade to true 2 AWG or 1/0 AWG pure oxygen-free copper (OFC) wiring.
- • Is the RD1500/1 truly stable at a 1-ohm load? I heard conflicting information online.
